A brief history of the Department of Agricultural Marketing system played a central role in all stages of economic development. Consideration of marketing starts before production decision and production technology is set. Therefore, there is no way to narrow down the role of marketing in increasing agricultural production and maintaining increased production. Since 1934, the Agricultural Marketing Advisor submitted a project to the Bangladesh government for the marketing department. The government accepted the project and in 1935 appointed the central and provincial marketing staff. Realizing the importance and potential of marketing, the government of undivided Bengal established the Agricultural Marketing Department in 1943 under the Department of Agriculture and Industry on a permanent basis.
After the independence of the subcontinent, in 1954, the East Pakistan Government approved the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing under the Department of Agriculture, Co-operation, and Relief. In 1960, the provincial restructuring committee approved the appointment of manpower at sub-divisional and district levels of the Agricultural Marketing Directorate. In 1982, the government of Bangladesh reorganized the various ministries / divisions according to the recommendations of the organizing committee formed under the leadership of Brig. Enamul Haque Khan. Then, considering the importance, status, and scope of the Agricultural Marketing Department, its name changed to the Department of Agriculture Marketing.
Condition to Apply
Age: Candidates must between 18 (eighteen) and 20 (thirty) years on 03/12/2018. In case of freedom fighters this age limit is 32 (thirty) years of relaxation.
