Accommodation
There are various types of accommodation available for international students, ranging from private leased apartments to on-campus accommodation as follows –
- Shared/Rental Accommodation A$100 – 350/week Renting a private apartment or sharing a house are popular and cheaper options for students. Some apartments and houses are furnished, and some students have to furnish themselves.
- On-campus Accommodation A$100 – 250/week. Most Universities offer accommodation on or near the campus. This may be a Student accommodation village or Halls of residence. On-campus accommodation is a great option for students as meals are often provided and distances are short.

Tuition Fees
Tuition fees vary between Institutions and are dependent on the level and course of study. International students are charged up-front tuition fees. Some general examples are as follows –
Foundation Studies A$ 9,000 – 14,000 a year
Certificate I – IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma A$ 5,500 – 18,000 a year
Bachelors Degree (Arts/Business/Law) A$ 10,000 – 13,500 a year
Bachelors Degree (Science & Engineering) A$ 11,000 – 16,500 a year
Masters/Doctoral Degree A$ 11,000 – 18,500 a year
English Language Training A$ 3,500 – 16,000 a year
Visa Requirements
All visitors to Australia are required to have a valid visa. Students planning to study for more than three months are required to have a Student Visa. To obtain a Student Visa you will need to –
1. Submit a student visa application.
2. Pay an application fee.
3. Provide a valid passport.
4. Provide appropriate information about financial ability to pay for the study.
5. Provide appropriate information about academic and English ability.
6. Provide an e CoE for a course.
7. Provide information that you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
8. Prove that you are of good character, sound health and have no debts to the Australian Government.
